When I found myself forced to join the workforce after being a stay-at-home mom to my four children - I naturally turned to early childhood development and education. A career that would allow me to still be with my children as much as possible, and that is all I knew how to do - care for children.
Much like being forced to join the workforce, once I did, my new boss/mentor/friend forced me to be a leader, another thing that I thought I would never be able to do. I have led some remarkable teams that have created fantastic results. My teams and I have surpassed enrollment goals and created joyful work and learning environments for children. We have increased employee retention and led regions in promoting from within. Now serving as an Operations Manager at a school serving students from Kindergarten through high school, I am the person everyone wants to know - but no one desires to be. I can get things done, but not many want to devote the time necessary to be everyone’s go-to.
Seeing what you can do when pushed off a cliff is incredible. At that point, you can fly or fall; it’s a choice. Some of us play it safe, so we never find ourselves near the edge; others are constantly walking the edge, and some - like me, did not even see the cliff before them and just started falling. It’s incredible how a little push can show you what you can do.
I still get pushed off the cliff. Sometimes, I jump out of naivety. My latest cliff is training for my first IRONMAN. I say first like there will be a second (Ha! - let’s not get ahead of ourselves!)
I have always loved writing. I prefer it to talking most days. My topics include parenting, education, fitness, diet, self-improvement, and any other conundrum I get myself into. My mission is to support others in self-care and growth with laughter so they can have the energy to be there for others.
I enjoy meeting new people and hearing new perspectives. Feel free to reach out if you are training for a physical milestone or have recently jumped off a cliff. I look forward to supporting you and your business by sharing your message.
